Mom/Daughter Road Trip

I am really late in getting this posted, but better late than never right?!

Back at the end of August, my mom came to visit.  Our first visitor!  I was so excited, mainly because it's mom, but especially since we didn't have a chance to see each other before the great move.

We stayed around town the first day to let her rest off all the jet lag, moving 7 hours ahead is a tough transition.  We toured our local town, had lunch at a pub, and picked the girls up from their first day of school.

The next day, we were off!  Zach was off work for a few days, so it allowed mom and I to take a road trip.

First stop- Stonehenge
This was on mom's bucket list and it didn't disappoint.  The rocks themselves are amazing and huge.  And to think about how it all came to be, such a magical mystery.

Second stop- Bath
This place was so much more than we thought it would be.  Spectacular!  We went on a tour of the Roman Baths.  Again, the history is incredible.

Then we had lunch in the old Pump Room, a stunning room with amazing food.  There was even a string quartet playing while we ate.

Then we just walked the city.  So much beautiful architecture.

Our last stop of the day was dinner at Sally Lunns.  It comes highly recommended and it did not disappoint.  I didn't take a picture, but the buns were melt in your mouth delicious.

As we were driving back to our room, we passed this beautiful landscape.

Third stop- Avebury
There is another location of neolithic stone circles in the town of Avebury.  It is the largest stone circle in Britain, and while they aren't quite like Stonehenge, it is just as interesting.

Finally, it was time to come home again.  We had such a great road trip and made some wonderful mom/daughter memories.
