Playing In The Rain

The past few days we've been dealing with some pretty yucky weather.  Thunderstorms, tornado warnings, and flooding.  It's been awful.  Classes have been cancelled and we've been cooped up in the house.  Finally, one afternoon, the rain let up to a light drizzle and there was no thunder and lightning, so I put the girls in their swimsuits and let them go play in the rain.

It was Emily's first time to play in the rain and she loved it.

Haley found the puddle at the end of the driveway first and enjoyed stomping her foot and making the water splash.

Emily found a stick that she was pretty proud of.

Eventually both girls started stomping in the puddle.

Then Haley decided she could jump and make a big splash.

So Emily tried to jump too, but both feet remained planted to the ground.  It was so cute.

She then realized she could just sit and play in the water.

After a few minutes, Emily found part of a coconut and we had to take it away when she tried to start eating it.  Ick!

Haley went back and forth from the yard trying to find things to float in the water.

The fun came to an end when Emily fell over in the water and got all dirty.  But it was a great escape for a little while.
