I am thrilled to announce that Haley has finally decided to start walking! It took a while, but she is finally taking lots and lots of steps. She doesn't actively seek out walking and would much rather keep crawling, but we are standing her up every chance we can and once she's up, she's walking. She took her first steps on January 6 at storytime and we were so excited. Then she decided that once was enough and wouldn't repeat. We kept on with her and while we were in Texas she figured it was ok to start walking.
A few other tidbits- Haley is now enrolled in Kindermusik. She loves music, so what better place to learn?! Our first class was yesterday and she seemed a little unsure about it all. Hopefully as the weeks go on she'll start to enjoy it a bit more. We'll also be doing swimming lessons again this year. Those should start in March or April. We continue to go to storytime each week at the library and she enjoys that quite a bit. It's about 20 minutes of songs and stories, then it's a free for all with kids playing. Haley is certainly not afraid to jump in with the other kids and play along. I love that fearless side of her.
Some of her favorite activities at the moment are blowing kisses, playing with her tea set, rocking, and reading. She loves her new tea set that we got while we were in Texas. She seems to know just what to do with it and pretends to drink from the cups and stir with the spoons. I love that she is starting to get imaginative. She also enjoys rocking, whether it's in her (my old) rocking chair or on her rocking butterfly. And let me just tell you how much this girl loves to read. We are always reading, mostly the same books over and over again, but at least she loves books.
One last notable- we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Haley's very first cousin. She is due to arrive sometime today. We are very excited for Zach's oldest brother (Zane) and his wife (Melissa).
