Cambridge

We went on another adventure a while back and explored Cambridge.  What a beautiful place!!

We started off at an incredible museum, The Fitzwilliam.

The girls got to see some incredible pieces!  Artifacts from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.  Pottery and paintings from all over the world.

The building itself is absolutely gorgeous.

We eventually began just wandering the city center.  So much incredible architecture.  One of the things I'm enjoying so much is seeing all the history of these buildings that were built hundreds of years ago.

Our last stop of the day was a punting tour, because when in Cambridge, you must go punting.  And what exactly is punting?  Think gondola, but a square boat and the punter uses a pole vs. an oar.

The tour was wonderful and we learned so much about Cambridge and all the colleges there.  Most interesting, the University of Cambridge started up after an association of scholars left Oxford after a dispute.

Another fun fact- The University is actually made up of 31 constituent colleges, like Kings College and St. Johns College.  It was funny because when we were waiting on our boat, you could hear a few people come up asking where the University of Cambridge was and the answer was always "Which college?".

And I'm pretty sure we saw the only cowgirl in Cambridge that day :)

Our day was completely perfect! Another wonderful adventure!
