Knowing that we weren't going to have a birthday party for Emily this year, we decided to take a family day trip....to London! We have been talking about London and all the fun things there for a while, so we thought it would be great to actually see some of what we've been talking about.
We decided to take the train instead of drive. The girls were thrilled about getting to ride the train for the first time.
After a bit of a hike from the train station, we finally arrived at the London Zoo. Woo hoo!
The Zoo was really neat. There were tons of animal exhibits and lots of learning stations along the way.
There was even a reindeer! The girls decided this one must have been Dancer.

There was a whole lot of silly this day!
And a carousel ride for the birthday girl and big sister. All the horses have names of royal family members and Emily rode on Prince George and Haley was on Duchess Catherine. Just one of those things that makes you smile.
After our time at the Zoo, we started our trek into the center of town. We walked through Regent's Park and it was beautiful.
We stopped to see Big Ben.
The plan was to go on the London Eye, but the wait was well more than we were wanting to do, so another time.
We compromised and ended up going by Buckingham Palace to see where the Queen lives.
While it was neat seeing the Queen's home, I think we had reached our fun limit by that point.
After a great day of sightseeing and walking (lots of walking), we hailed ourselves a taxi back to the train station and headed back home.
