Christmas Vacation

I'm a little late in getting this up, but better late than never.  We had such a wonderful Christmas vacation!  It was great being able to spend the holidays with family for the first time in three years.

I'll spare you of all the details, but here are some of the highlights.

Oklahoma and Zach's family was first up.  We played indoor baseball one night and all the kids loved it!  I'm not sure I've ever heard that many squeals and giggles in one night.  We followed that up by cramming 6 adults and 4 kids into an Expedition and going to see some amazing Christmas lights.

Haley got to help Grandma decorate the Christmas tree.  She was pretty excited about getting to put ornaments on the tree and did a great job!

Another night the whole crew (10 adults and 4 kids) made a trip to Chuck E Cheese.  Everyone had so much fun!  The night ended with a few of us getting sick (including myself, from some nasty bug was flying around), but it was still a great evening with family.

Then there was the trip to see Santa.  Haley liked seeing him from afar and wasn't too thrilled to sit on his lap.  Emily was so excited to see him, but ended up in tears when it was finally her turn.  It is certainly a picture I'll cherish forever.

Last year on Grandpa's birthday, Haley painted him a picture and sent it to him.  When we got to OK for the holidays, he showed us that he had framed it.  That was so thoughtful and sweet.

Christmas Eve was the day everyone got together to exchange gifts.  The best part for me was seeing all the cousins together.

After an awesome week in OK, it was time to head down to TX and see my family.  When we got there on Christmas day, Haley and Grandpa Glen built a fire in the outdoor fireplace.  Later in the week we got to make s'mores over the fire.  It was perfect!

We spent lots of time outside even though it was pretty chilly.  This was the first time that Emily had ever worn a coat, hat, and gloves.
There was also a lot of time spent out on the Argo (or amphibious vehicle).  It was all decorated with Christmas lights for our visit.  Haley loved "driving" it.

Another day we went up to the Red River (which divides TX and OK) and waved hello to OK.

We had such a wonderful time on our trip seeing family and doing all the things you can't do here.  It was a very Merry Christmas!
