So it's not actually "school", but Mother's Day Out (MDO). We call it school because it makes it a little easier :) Anyways, I digress.
The girls had their first day of MDO two weeks ago. They each go two days a week for 5 hours, which includes lunch and quiet time.
Both girls were very excited about going to school, so they could meet their teachers and make new friends.
They both got new lunch bags since they eat lunch at school. They each got to pick what they wanted on the front. Haley was over the moon excited when she got to see it for the first time. She carried it around for a few hours talking about how she was going to take it to school and show all her new friends.
Emily, on the other hand, has taken a little bit of time getting used to school. The first day she was very excited about going to school, but very sad when we turned to leave. They called us to pick her up early because she was crying so much. She made it the second day a little bit longer, but still left early. Finally on the third day, she made it the whole day. She still cries when we leave, but it is short-lived. Her teacher is wonderful with her and says she wears her backpack all day (it's her comfort item), even while out on the playground and taking a nap. She cries when I come to pick her up, but always says she had a fun day.
