Emily has now been with us for just under three weeks. Zach has gone back to work. Mom has gone home. Life has gone back to normal, whatever normal means.
Emily is doing great. At her first doctor's appointment, the doctor felt she had lost too much weight (8oz), but she has since gained it back and then some. She is now at 7lbs and 10oz. Emily is such a wonderful and easy baby. I'm not sure how we got so lucky a second time.

Emily at 12 days
Haley at 5 months
Haley has done pretty well with the transition of having a little sister. She loves having Emily around and enjoys playing with her. She's also always wanting to hold her. Most of the time she will laugh when Emily sticks out her tongue or is trying to get her paci. It's very sweet.
It hasn't been all roses with Haley though. I think most of it has to do with the dreaded "2's" phase. Sometimes she throws a tantrum and there's not much we can do for her. Going to bed has been a challenge too. Haley has been fighting it with every fiber in her and has cried herself to sleep a few nights (which just breaks my heart). This is how I found her for nap time.
Since Zach has gone back to work, I have had to figure out how to take care of both girls on my own (since he works 13 hour shifts). I've done pretty well until it gets time for dinner and bedtime. I'm trying to figure out how to make dinner, feed Haley and I, then get all three of us ready for bed. It's certainly been a challenge and there has been some trial and error, but I think we'll get the hang of it.
In the end, I think we've all done pretty well. Emily and Haley are both wonderful, happy, and healthy girls. Zach and I have hit the jackpot!
