Texas, Part II

We have just left Texas and are now on the last leg of our adventure in Oklahoma City. Here are some of the highlights from our last week and a half in Texas.

We stayed with my mom for ten days and it was absolutely wonderful! The girls had so much fun! We spent most of our days just tinkering around doing this or that. The evenings were spent with Haley running around in the sprinkler. Such easy entertainment. My oldest younger brother came to visit and it was great to see him. He was so wonderful with the girls and Haley just adored being with her Uncle Joel. The weekend my brother was there we had a bunch of family come up to visit and it was a party! There was lots of food- fabulous steak and homemade ice cream, can't get any better than that! Eventually everyone went back home and we only had a few days left with mom. we finished off the rest of our shopping list and just enjoyed being together. It is always hard to say goodbye to my mom, but we had to. It was time to move on.

After a short drive, we made it to Plano. Our first stop was to an urgent care clinic because I was fairly sure Miss Emily had an ear infection. Sure enough, she had two! After picking up her meds we made it to my great-aunts house. The next day we went to the children's museum and Haley had lots of fun running between the exhibits. Emily enjoyed the Under Two room playing with all the soft blocks and just crawling around. That night I was able to meet up with some friends from college. Always a fun time with those guys! The next morning we had a family breakfast and then the girls and I were off again!

We met up with my grandmom for lunch and then we were off to Lubbock to see more of my family. The night we got there was a big family dinner. My uncle grilled and the girls were introduced to a lot more family. The next day was filled with family again. Haley ran around with her cousins and wore herself right out. Emily did very well being passed around and meeting everyone for the first time. After a whirlwind stay, it was time to say good bye to Texas.

Texas is such a wonderful place for me and I'm so glad that we were able to spend as much time as we did there seeing family and friends. Now we are in Oklahoma for our final week. Stay tuned for what happens next!
